My Story

Hello, 

My name is Jacob Perdew I am the owner of Yew Productions and would like to think I have a pretty interesting story. 

Here is the short version.....

Crazy fun childhood, Big dreams, Aviation, Army deployment, Cinematography company, Love for film making 

LONG VERSION:

I started Filming while In Iraq on a deployment with the army as a Black Hawk helicopter crew chief. I realized that everything has a very unique and interesting story. Cinema is an amazing way to tell your stories convey your ideas and sell people on your dreams. 

I am a person with many different dreams, from a young age I remember always trying to create things, from a (failed) PVC hang glider to a very cheesy short film. Me and my brothers would always came up with creative outlooks on simple tasks. 

TWO things that I always wanted to do was story telling and aviation. Thats why when I was 16 I started to lust for the opportunity to fly, and thats exactly what I did the day I turned 18 I was in the air flying, 32 hours later I had my Private Pilots License. From there I continued to learn more about aviation until one day I realized that all I wanted to do was fly FAST AND LOW,  how would I do that though?.... Military was the obvious  answer, in my normal way of doing things, once that little seed was planted all I could think about was flying for the army, the biggest problem was finding someone who would take me. Tough times where ahead of me but every door that closed another door opened.  I got a flight slot with the army national guard, but first I had to contract with them and go to 17 months of non flight school related training. I buckled down and joined, went to basic training and AIT (advanced individual training) From AIT I was suppose to go to flight school,  but God had a different plan and one month after getting out of AIT orders came down that I was shipping out to IRAQ as a crew chief (not a pilot) There was nothing I could do, So I embraced it. 12 months and 360 combat flight hours later I returned to the USA and tried to jump back into flying but again many roadblocks got in my way, so I picked up a job with a local Production company shooting wedding films. From there I invested in some camera equipment and started shooting my own projects.

• Started with weddings, not just documentaries of weddings but artistic storys. 
• Commercials, produced and directed over 6 commercials all very different and unique.
• Music Videos, Started with an Imagine dragons Video just as practice then moved on to a Video for this amazing Band "The vibrant Sound". Music Videos are a con-duet to creative Freedom 
• Shorts/ Series I was thinking one day, how can I get alot of practice without spending a lot of money? So I wrote up a script that involved minimum cost and started shooting. This Project KEYS tuned into much more then just practice it blossomed into something I love ! We have now shot one 30 min episode and have scripts for 3 more. Segment one is online and you should defiantly look at it. Shot on one camera with one lens.
